She is a moderately passionate lecturer. Her lectures are well prepared, and she is friendly when you talk to her.
The first few lectures were a bit rushed, especially those on conversion and probability. But the pace slowed down after the first midterm. There were two midterms and five homeworks, which were not very difficult. This class requires you to know some basic OChem (functional groups, isomers of polyisoprene).
I appreciate how the slides correspond to the book (which is on UCLA Library) but the slide derivations were appropriately condensed from the book. The book is helpful to supplement the slides. However, keep in mind that it was written from a more pure chemistry perspective, so there is more chemistry than needed for this class.
Overall, I would take her class again if I had to as she is an excellent teacher.

The TA, Pengju Shi, knows his stuff and he was very prepared during discussions. His slides are helpful reviews. He also graded the midterms very promptly and responded to emails quickly.

This class is one of the best classes I have ever taken at UCLA. The instructor is definitely an expert on bio-inspired materials. The lectures include many different topics, which significantly broaden my horizon. The difficulty and workload of this class are appropriate. Literature review, oral presentation and writing of research proposal are better training than exams. All in all, I'll give my highest evaluation and recommendation for this class.

Amazing professor, really does her best to make the class manageable for all her students. Even including an optional extra credit paper on a guest lecturer. Exams are essentially what is lectured in class/homework. Grading from the TA is also the fastest I've ever experienced here a UCLA with exams graded and curved the same day. I took this class for one of my tech breadths and really enjoyed it.

Just as a preface, I took this class completely online due to COVID-19.

Professor He was a fantastic professor. She was very clear, albeit a bit fast, and was more than receptive to student feedback as the course went on. The only significant drawback I encountered with this course was the approach to test-taking. For me personally, I did not perform very well on the tests due to the limited time allowed for lengthy tests. Other students performed just fine, so this was definitely a personal issue, but I still think it is important to know when deciding on a class/professor. Overall, I would absolutely take another class with Professor He. Though the tests didn't come very easily to me, I genuinely felt like she cared about my understanding of the material and that I am leaving this course having learned something.

This class started out super stressful but by the end of the quarter, it was way better. The content started out pretty easy but the first midterm was really hard and she kept telling us she wasn't gonna curve at all. By the time of the midterm, she had put out her own course survey and actually listened to it really well. She ended up not only offering 10 points of extra credit if you filled out the end of course survey but also heavily curved the class! Overall she is pretty nice but her lectures aren't the clearest.
Overall description of the class: Her entire lecture is powerpoints we were pretty sure she stole from the textbook and just explained. The grading is based on HW(10%), 2 quizzes(20%), a midterm(30%), and a final (40%). The homework is all from the textbook and some of the quiz and midterm questions also were but she did write some of her own to spice things up. I never went to the discussion so Im not sure how helpful it was but they also posted the review questions and solutions to everything on CCLE.

This professor is excellent. She is super passionate about teaching this class that she was literally 9 months pregnant, and still gave it her all. Made concepts super clear. Her passion for teaching is unmatched. Her understanding and compassion for students should not go unnoticed. She really cares for students succeeding. She heavily curves this class. For the exams, they were curved, and students were given huge grade boosts. In addition, her grading rubric is: 90-100% A+, 83.5 -90% A, 77.5-83.4% A-, 71.5-77.4 B+, 65.5 - 71.4% B. Moreover, an additional 5% is given if you do the CCLE survey. So to summarize, not only is she a really good professor, she cares a lot about students, and gives generous grades.
