I am confused by Professor Peters's negative reviews. Not only was the class super engaging but she was so funny. I read a lot of reviews about her being unhelpful, and while I did not attend office hours, I did get the help I needed from Ana, the TA. The lecture material covered most of what you needed to know for the projects and homework. My only complaint is that the final was pretty difficult. She did curve it, though, so in the future, a better, shorter study guide would be appreciated. Otherwise, I looked forward to attending this class each week and I will miss learning about the current economic trends from this class.

I came into this class with super low expectations because of the other reviews and was very pleasantly surprised. Professor Peters is not nearly as bad as these reviews said. Her lectures were very clear, organized and overall not bad. The grading was super easy. There were like 5 different projects that all were pretty much graded on completion. The two Ta's graded slightly differently but neither graded super challenging. There was no midterm and the final was not the best but not awful by any means. It had a multiple choice section and 3 short essays but all typed and she provided a study guide which had everything that was on the test. I am not writing this to say this was the best class ever, it def was not my favorite but don't be afraid to take this class. Professor Peters is nice and fair. You will be fine lol.

Prof. Peters is organized but assigns too many readings that would counter act what was said during lecture. She also always finds a way to talk about how much she hates Trump every lectures which kind of gets annoying after it happening all the time. Professor Peters does know the material very well but I feel that she only talks about surface level things and could go into more detail for other topics. There are no assignments in the course other than unit tests (3) and one white paper. I think that it get difficult when the professor never mentions an assignment or test is due until a couple of days. Even though as student, we should be keeping track of our assignments, I think that it is very important for the professor to speak about them. If you are not very interested in migration then do not take this class. Majority of the people took this course because with was one of the last ones open during enrollment.
