Professor Weisz really cares about his students and has such a passion for what he does. Aside from being a professor, he is such a nice man and you can tell how compassionate he is from the moment you walk into the class. He provides many different resources to aid you and learn in different ways (videos, handouts, guest speakers, class participation etc.). His exams are very detailed and require a lot of reading but they are do-able. Don't focus too much on the book (because you can get pretty carried away by how detailed it is), but more on his lectures and notes. His exams are more than fair and you must attend all lectures and take good notes to do well. Overall, this class was a great experience. I'm not a psych major, and some articles were very disturbing to read, but I would reccommend the class not only because it was interesting but because he is a great professor!

Professor Weisz is one of the warmest, caring professors I have come in contact with. One thing that makes his class truly different than many other psychology classes is that you don't simply memorize facts and disorders, you actually meet people that he asks to come in as part of a panel discussion whose lives have been affected by a clinical disorder. We met a family with ADHD, a mother who lost her son to suicide (she believes Ritalin was responsible for her son's depression), families with autistic children, and also people who work with these children. It really puts a whole different spin on things to actually see it in front of you rather than simply read it in a book. The autistic children were so amazingly cute. One even played the cello for us! Take this class - you will not regret it. I have already finished all my Psych classes, but took his class simply because of recommendations from friends. VERY MUCH WORTH THE TIME. This class has really changed my perspective on so many things.

The dude's pretty phat...nice guy...learns names like no one's business. Lectures can get a bit long...but having them only once a week pays off. Pay a little attention in the class and you'll be rewarded...theres always enough stupid people to set to curve and bump you up to an A. He makes such a boring ass subject somewhat decent...and for those of you that enjoy the subject...you'll be even better off.

I absolutely loved this class. Professor Weisz is undoubtedly one of the best professors I've had at UCLA. He is funny, witty, and extremely kind, not to mention that he's very knowledgable in the field of Childhood and Adolescent Abnormal Psychology. He constantly shows videos to reinforce lecture material and also gives out lecture notes so his students can just follow along instead of having to write down every single little thing. His class was incredible and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone!

Dr. Weisz is a great professor. He is a caring, sincere and approachable professor. He makes the material easy to understand and is always willing to assist those who need a little more help in understanding the material. He also uses many video examples to illustrate his points. His three exams are fair, they are not cumulative. He is one of the best professors I have had at UCLA. Overall, I would recommend him.
