Winter 2023 - Professor Friscia is actually the best. His lectures are clear, interesting, and educational. Everything about his class is so well structured, I cannot stress enough how much I encourage you to take this cluster as an incoming freshman. We have had some great field trips to Nevada and the La Brea Tar Pits, and I have gotten a few good friends from this class as well. Tony is so helpful and it is clear he cares about his students learning. At times the class can be a lot of work, but generally it is really spread out and manageable. TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU ARE A FRESHMAN STUDENT IN A HUMANITIES MAJOR.

took him for phy sci 107. He's funny and all but his lectures are disorganized compared to Phelps. I guess it's understandable since Phelps has been teaching for a very long time. I thought he was cool and all until he actually said, "You're an idiot," to a student who forgot to turn off his/her phone.. I know that s/he made a mistake but that does not give him the right to call that person an idiot in front of a bunch of people.

Fall 2022 - Friscia teaches the second half of the course and he seems a bit more hardcore and strict personality wise, however, his quizzes and written final exam were definitely easier than Phelp's solely because the second half of the course is more just brute memorization based (memorizing everything about the bones and muscles). You will have to spend tons of time studying for the weekly quizzes but at the end of the day, its very possible to get an A.

Spring 2019 - The lab portion was the most interesting to me, I learned a lot and Dr. Friscia was interested in our learning of the material rather than the amount of material presented. No midterms, no final, just one group project (2 people for 30 minutes on a research article), a final 10 page paper, and weekly questions, and a 2 page paper (Final, technically) and lab quality grade. He is so chill, its a class for seniors only and getting in depends if you were a UA for PhySci 107 or PhySci 13. Overall, I am so glad I was able to take this class, If you can take it, you won't regret it!

Summer 2021 - This is by far my favorite class I've taken at UCLA. Dr. Friscia is awesome and although it's a lot of material (o/i/a of all muscles from 107 + blood supply and innervation) it's totally worth it. Friscia is very reasonable with grades, but to get an A you should memorize everything, take advantage of the open labs, and start studying from day 1 to not fall behind. Dissecting cadaver limbs as an undergraduate is almost unheard of so if you get the chance to take this class definitely do!! It was such a rewarding experience and is great preparation for anyone interested in medical school.

Took GE Cluster 70A. Class is very interesting 1st quarter but slightly difficult as we learn about astronomy and physics. 2nd quarter is about evolution and easier, although a bit more boring for me. Friscia is awesome. Very friendly and approachable, straightforward about what is on his tests. As long as you go to lecture and study the material, It is not too hard to get an A. There is a 5-7 page paper both quarters which kind of sucks, but the TA's grade fairly easy so it is not too bad.
