This class isn't exactly what you would expect from something named "Drawing and Color"— there's little to no learning about illustration and traditional drawing. That said, I still enjoyed it and it was a good foundational class. You go over design principles (like rhythm/contrast/movement) and the history of these; there were a few interesting lectures about the Bauhaus movement, for example.

Majority of your assignments will be in Adobe Illustrator with a couple ventures into Photoshop. The first couple are kind of boring because you're just drawing patterns/shapes to show the design principles, but the final project a group assignment in pairs where you create a product/service, design a slide deck, and pitch it to the class. Open-ended and was fun.

Overall, even though some concepts we learned were kind of elementary, this was the class that really got me used to the Illustrator workflow; learned a lot of useful shortcuts and functions that have served me well to today.
