Moloudi is just a really fantastic lecturer. There are a lot of times when he simply says "put down your pencils and actually listen to me" and he communicates complicated concepts very well. Homeworks and tests are tough but fair, and I came out of this class very satisfied with what I learned. Pace of the class is also very good.
Honestly the BEST EE teacher I've had and I'm 5 years deep here. Moloudi actually cares about teaching and every aspect of his class reflects that. Speaks clearly, interacts with the class, explains everything very well.
I went from understanding almost nothing about circuits after taking 110 to mastering transistors. Thanks Moloudi.
Homeworks take a long time... Like 5 hours+ easily. Sometimes more like 12. If you actually do them you'll do very well in the class.
Moloudi is a very good and clear lecturer. The class is at 8 am and lectures are not recorded + notes are not uploaded. Even though the class is early, it is definitely worth it to attend lecture, especially since his explanations of concepts are often very well done and he makes pretty good analogies. The homeworks are difficult, but doable as long as you put time into them. There are about 6 homeworks + 1 quiz on SPICE(10% of your grade), 1 midterm (35% of your grade), and final (55% of grade). The midterms are pretty tough, with the average being around a 66% and he doesn't curve the class. While the class was really difficult, I think I got a lot out of it and I would definitely recommend taking this class with Moloudi.
Yes, he is great at teaching and lecturing. He does explain concepts well and his tests wouldn't seem difficult if you go to class and study.
However: I regret not attending most the lectures (only went to 4 or 5 since its too damn early), or taking time to thoroughly read the material. I only skimmed through problems and a bit of the book. I was personally disappointed for ending up at the 44% of the class. Naturally, I expected a B... but he gave me a C+! After asking around, I heard people at the 25% got B-, so should I be happy with my C+? Also people at the 80% got D-'s. I like him as a professor and all, but if I knew how UNgenerous he is with semi-decent grades, I would've forced myself to wake up for class, or take 115A later. And I'm really hoping these grades are an April fools joke.
