Quarter: Winter 2019
Grade: A
June 26, 2019

BEST MSE CLASS AT UCLA. I took this course with only 6 students enrolled, which fostered a very intimate and close learning environment. The class was extremely interesting and useful as a future MSE grad and was very practical as well. Sergey expertly weaved the knowledge of light optics with electron optics and focused on aspects of electron microscopy that will be useful in industry and research. He focused on how to use the machines in lab with not too much fundamental principles. Labs were excellent with TA Xuanyi. The workload was very high due to the homework and lab report due each week alongside 2 midterms and a final. However, the work is definitely rewarding and you will feel so accomplished after completing this course. I cannot recommend it enough!
