Definitely the worst professor I've ever had. It's as if she tries to make her lectures circular and nonsensical. She was not friendly and definitely had favorites in the class. Her class is a lot of work and I definitely don't recommend it! She also tends to have a condescending tone when speaking to students. Even though she was a horrible professor and lecturer, her TAs made up for her slack and graded very fairly on the final.

Interest in the material of ethics is certainly key. Otherwise you may really grow to loathe the class. As a writing class there is a lot of work but Shiffrin is fair and capable of realizing when the workload is getting too heavy. She is not afraid to alter the work schedule to drop an assignement or push back deadlines. She is a bit anal and has a personality that you either click with or don't. (I personally didn't) The study guide for the final exam had some exam questions verbatim on the test but its only worth 15%, the rest is papers and rewrites.
