I was worried about this class after I heard how difficult Prof Mcauliffe was for 100A. But for 120A, I cannot say that he is unfair or difficult at all. His lectures can be a bit scattered and difficult to follow if you 'space out' for a second but all in all they are enjoyable - he actually makes it fun! The practice tests are VERY helpful to get a feel for his testing style. Take the practice tests - they provide you with a few 'freebies' for the exams. His questions are pretty straight forward and not too tricky at all. Very fair. I got an A in the class. Another great thing: NO BOOK! Just based on lectures and slides.
Definitely recommended.

I took Mcauliffe for Cognitive Psych. I was really scared at first because the reviews were really bad. But i don't understand why people give so many negative reviews about this professor. After taking his class, i can honestly say, it was one of the most enjoyable classes I have taken. I really liked his class. At first it can seem that his lectures all over the place, maybe because he talks kind of fast, but you get used to it eventually. Maybe it is a different thing to take this professor for statistics though, I don't know about that, but i can say that I really enjoyed taking cognitive psych with him. I have not taken the final yet but got an A on the midterm and am expecting an A overall, hopefully.

Hope this helps!
