This class was great! the worst part was how long it was but when I took it he would often let us out early! There are two small papers (2 pages double spaced) and a longer paper (10 pages on something relating to the class). You also pick a week with your group to present about the readings but again, easy. It was a very chill class and the professor and TA's were great very understanding and helpful! I recommend!
PLEASE TAKE! Good upper div elective or major class. His class consist of 1 group project (easy project), and 2 papers (one of them is your final paper which is a 5-6 pg research paper). No midterms or quizzes. We read every week too, but you can skim and you'll be good. His lectures are always held by guest speakers since we learn different viewpoints about AAPIs, but they're engaging. His TAs Annie and Rose are the sweetest and are so helpful. The class was also an easy A, but you learn so much.
Dr. Teranishi was an amazing professor! His lectures are super engaging and interesting. We only met once a week and the TA's were also super accommodating and sweet. In terms of workload, we had three reflection essays (that were super manageable) and there was no final. There were weekly supplemental readings, but they weren't required readings (you can get away with skimming them). Overall, very interesting and easy course, would recommend!
