Take him for MAE-155 !

He has good lectures and is very helpful during office hours.

Be warned that he grades homework on correctness, including correctly following his variable subscript/superscript conventions. I looked at the grade distribution and assumed the class was curved... I was wrong.

Professor Kinsey is by far one of the best lecturers in MAE department. He works part time at Aerospace Corp and JPL, and he is an expert in spacecraft and rigid body dynamics. He picks on you in class to participate but that way it's to help you learn. There's a book for this class but its from the 1980s and it's not very helpful. His NOTES are very helpful though. He keeps you engaged and tries to be funny. He is very helpful during office hours if you go to them. The class is tough, it's something you just have to learn on your own and do practice problems over and over again.

One of the best Professors I have had. He's really excited about the material so he'll draw you in. He teaches well and is happy to help you outside of class so you'll understand the material. He let's you know what is on the test and tells you what problems to study from the homework.

If you can take him for any of your dynamics courses do it. He makes a very difficult subject moderate at worst.

The only thing bad I can say is since he works his time outside of class is taken up by his job. However, if he is going to miss an office hour or class he makes a make-up time for it.
