This was by far one of the best chemistry classes I have taken. Reslan was very clear and exact in her work and gave a lot of examples. I took the asynchronous class and it was very easy. There were a couple take home quizzes that were very closely related to lecture recordings. The recordings were a bit long but it was only because she did a lot of practice examples and gave full informative explanations. She is a quick responder to emails. I personally did not go to the discussion sections, but some of my friends in the class said they were very informative. The TAs also collabed and sent out weekly review summarizations of the content. The practice midterms and final were almost the same as the actual tests, and for our final, she gave us at least 30 points in extra credit questions. Highly recommend this class even if it is just for a GE!!!
Asynchronous Class checklist:
Never attend zoom meetings except for the first one because you're afraid that zoom attendance/participation matters (it doesn't) ✓
Never attend discussions except for the first one because you're afraid that discussion attendance/participation matters (it doesn't) ✓
Skim the textbook on maybe one occasion ✓
Never watch a recording (besides a midterm/final review session) ✓
Miss one week's worth of homework and bs all the homework that you do do ✓
Turn in two quizzes late and don't turn in one quiz at all ✓
Study the hell out of the practice midterms/final an hour before the midterm/final ✓
The midterms are ridiculously easy if you study the practice exams that professor gives out. A majority of the questions on the exam are word for word, if not number for number, the exact same as on her practice versions. The format is the same too in terms of number of multiple choice and free response questions.
I forgot how she weighted her class but pray that it's heavily weighted on the exams so you don't have to do any work throughout the course.
Quizzes are easy, you get unlimited tries on the homework, and exams are free.
You can also bully her into making tests easier if you complain enough which is kinda crazy but definitely unnecessary.
The two times that I saw her was during the in person finals, she seemed really chill. Good vibes.
If you are a hands on kind of learner who needs a lot of homework and classwork to do and check-ins to make etc., maybe try her in person class, but bottom line, this review is probably not for you.
