Definitely one of the better econ profs I have had at UCLA. His midterm and final were fairly difficult but he prepared you well for them by giving you plenty of study material. Unlike a lot of economics profs, the material on exams closely resmebled material on homeworks and past exams. He is obviously concerned with student learning and has done lots of interesting research. IF you dont mind doing lots of algebra, i highly recommend him.

This guy is GREAT! Even at 8am I was interested in economics...which is no easy feat. Professor Leslie mixes in a lot of empirical case work that he has done himself, which makes the class very interesting. It's more fun learning about case studies then JUST supply and demand curves...but there is still a lot of that.

His tests are very fair and his problem sets/homework is very very useful. While they are difficult, going to office hours clears everything up...and believe me, you won't be there alone.

Take this professor! He is clear, concise, interesting, fair, and fun. You'll walk away from the course with a better understanding of economics and a feeling you've learned something useful.
