Had him for Ling 20 and Syntax. I thought he was a great professor. There's no textbook. Just study the lecture notes and understand the homework, and you'll be in great shape. I recommend taking him.

Hallman is an OK teacher. Homework is free points if you go to homework lab (they give you answers) or check your work with someone that did. Midterm was really hard...final was a lot better. If there is even a little curve I believe I will get an A...hopefully there is.

Overall medium difficulty. Since it's a GE for most, I would not recommend taking it. I took it because it fit nicely in my schedule. If I get an A, I will say it's an awesome GE since I did not go to class until after the first midterm (all lecture slides + lecture notes are online), so I had a lot of free time, but if I get an A-, I will be indifferent.
