Dr. Meites is nice and helpful professor I’ve had for my Music Theory sequence class. He is always prepared with slides for our class lectures which has helped me a lot while taking notes.

I’m planning to sell this class’s textbooks for $200 in total if you’re interested in purchasing them: Course Reader: Lefkowitz, D.S. Tonal Harmony: Syntax, Function, and Form./A New Approach to Sight Singing: 6th edition.

Dr. Meites is a fun, engaging lecturer and is very knowledgeable about music theory. The class is certainly challenging at times, but the way assignments are weighted makes it easy to catch up if you fall behind. The textbook is highly recommended, especially since many terms Dr. Meites uses are directly from it. Homework is occasionally discussed in-class and he often gives a grace period for more difficult assignments. Tests are fair but can be difficult depending on a student's level of comprehension.

Extra credit is almost exclusively given on the exams. This can raise your grade slightly but don't count on it to succeed. Finally, be sure to get your discussion points as they are essentially free. Overall, great class, great professor. Would highly recommend.
