Dr. Eisenberger is my favorite professor I have had at UCLA. She always dresses up for class, and makes her lectures engaging and interesting. Your grade is based off of 3 papers, a midterm, and a non cumulative final. I would really recommend this class, I honestly learned so much from it. The papers are not graded harshly at all and almost all students got 100 on them. The exams can be difficult, some questions are A-E and the wording can be tricky. I would recommend to study the course material each week rather than cramming before the exams. I didn't do as well on the final as I wanted, even though I studied a lot, but I would still totally recommend this class to any psych student !!
The class is very interesting, and Professor Eisenberger is knowledgeable about the material. There are 2 exams throughout the quarter, 2 short papers, and she provides a sufficient amount of time to complete them. There is one required reading for one of the papers, but the other is based on notes and personal reflection. The exams are multiple choice A-E and are quite difficult as the questions can be wordy or appear to have multiple right answers, but asking the TA helps clarify a lot. If you study the slides, you should be able to pass the exams. It is clear she wants students to succeed in the course and provides extra credit through random attendance checks and extra credit problems on the exams.
