I took this class as DH 150 - Data in the Margins.
Dr. Posner is one of the sweetest and funniest professors I’ve had at UCLA! Her lectures are super interesting and engaging, and she genuinely cares about her students. Since the class is small, it’s easy to connect with her and share your ideas. She uses her own website for coursework, but grades are posted on BruinLearn. Attendance and participation are important, but she’s understanding of students who aren’t comfortable speaking and sometimes offers written participation instead. You do a group project with about 3-4 other people as the final project instead of taking an exam for your final. I ended with an A- mainly because I struggled with attendance. Overall, a great class with an amazing professor!
Class title was DGT HUM 150: Digital Labor. What a great class.
Interesting readings, engaging activities, cool videos and documentaries to watch, dynamic discussions about gig work and social media and AI.
Professor Posner has a good collection of material to read about and the class was always interesting.
