Professor Paquette is so great! I may have had a different experience, because I took this class remotely due to the pandemic. Nonetheless, Paquette was very thorough with her explanations. There is a lot of material to learn, but I found it very simple to understand. I often paid lots of attention while doing her lectures, and found that I did not need to study much once the exams came around. Overall, Paquette is very clear, very helpful, and a queen for being so considerate of her students during the pandemic and during times where peoples' lives and well-being have to be prioritized.

I enjoyed this class a lot! I felt that it gave a great overview of psychology. I appreciated Prof. Paquette-Smith's ability to be flexible for her students due to COVID and I felt that she was fair and understanding. I personally like when professors follow their slides, and she definitely did this. I also liked the asynchronous format . There are many small weekly assignments and allowing students to watch lectures and complete these by Sunday lets students plan their weeks better. Overall, I thought this class worked well remotely.

This class takes a lot of studying and all of her test questions are examples. EX. If this person can't remember the future what kind of Amnesia do they have? Questions like this so you must study while thinking of examples. Overall, she's a pretty good lecturer and will give you suggestions on how to study certain concepts.

Quarter: Fall 2019

Class is great! Took this class first quarter of my freshman year. I went in very anxious and basically prepared to get grades I was not going to be proud of . However, this proved to not be the case. PSYCH 10 was a very interesting and engaging class. Prof. was very organized and the expectations for the class were very apparent. She shares slides and outlines of lectures with students and the course is also recorded.

With Paquette-Smith we would lecture entirely on the first day of the week and on the second day split between lecture and in class lab. Everything is very manageable, reading was dense at times, but also very helpful as a supplement to her lectures.

I got an A on both the midterm and final and finished the class with a high A. The TAs and LAs for this course are great. I would highly recommend this course with this professor to absolutely anyone!!

This class wasn't too tough, but the final is cumulative which really messed me up. I didn't expect to get an A because of the final, but by the grace of God, I did. Pacquette-Smith is an OK professor, not a really fun class but the labs are easy to do and she provides a lot of help if you just ask her. She assigned a lot of leadership to one of the TAs, who is not very helpful and is kind of a know-it-all. For the final review, he provided information that was relevant to the other introductory to psychology class and not ours, so it wasn't really helpful. The midterm was ok, just a lot of memorization, but the final was a bit more rough.

Very straightforward class. I really enjoyed the professor's lectures. It was a bit difficult to pay attention for 2 hours, but it was a relatively simple class and was a good experience.

The class in general is interesting. I didn't do as well as I thought I would because the exams given in the course are very challenging. The exams are challenging just because you are required to memorize a whole lot of information from her slides so if your taking her class, make sure you pay attention to her lectures! The textbook isn't necessary at all, nothing in the book will be on her exams. Overall though it's an interesting class, but it's a lot of work in my opinion for a GE lower division class.
