AVOID AT ALL COSTS. You will learn nothing from her lectures. THE ONLY WAY TO LEARN SOMETHING IN CLASS IS TO READ THE BOOK. I, personally, read the entire book. That is the only reason why I got an A in this class. Otherwise, her lectures are a plain waste of time. Besides, her quizzes are just silly and ridiculous. She gets carried away sometimes, speaking of her personal life. Also presentations at the end of the quarter are stupid because no one prepares anything useful and you end up sitting there browsing the web on your laptop. Just buy a book other than the one she assigns. Because that one won't teach you anything as it is a reference book, and NOT a coursebook. Care about the material? Don't take her. Waste of time. Good luck! Btw, her exams are really difficult.

Hi i took M16 course with her,i never had a grade worse than a B as of my fourth year, mostly A's.and Ishhaghiyan gaveme my first C!!! .and i dont know how i got it.i participated in all lectures and discussions.did all the home works .got above average on midterm and then for the final first i got a B .and then she gradually lower my grade!!! and changed it to C!!.she is the worst instructor at UCLA .she dosent teach you anything and expect every thing and wont give you good grade.her final was impossible!!!.during lectures she usually sits by the computer and ask students to do their homework .absolutely pointless lectures.i absolutely dont recommend her.avoid her if you can and hopefully we will talk to dean to excuse her from teaching at UCLA in future.

I thought Eshaghian was a HORRIBLE teacher. I did not feel like she understood the material, let alone teach it to students learning it for the first time. The book was completely useless and comprehensible and I ended up trying to learn everything with my study group. She gives out random pop quizzes EVERY lecture and gives everyone 100% on them though. Her midterm and final were there same form of free response, design the digital system test. She gave out 2 class projects that were not given much instruction, we had to learn VHDL coding by ourselves basically within 2 weeks. If you do not have experience with digital systems, I would avoid her. Make sure you have friends in the class too so you can be lost together too.
