Quarter: Winter 2017
Grade: A-
Aug. 18, 2018

She was so great! I took her class when she was teaching half with Hill. She took the midterm half and he did the final half. or vise versa lol but she was great. she was hilarious, showed us pics of her dogs, and made the material very chill to learn. The textbook is definitely necessary. There is no way around it. Tests are "easy" if you read and attend lecture. Just remember to take good notes to know what you have to study for. I also enrolled in AAP sessions for this class. Because of all 3 things (book, lecture, plf sessions) I got an A-.
I am selling the loose-leaf version of the book, back in its original shrinkwrap for $55. I will ship it to you priority. I take good care of my things especially books. I accept Venmo and will ship ASAP with a tracking number. Text: **********

Quarter: Spring 2017
Grade: A
July 11, 2017

Professor Walker was one of my favorite professors last year. She is very engaging and tries to make all lecture material connect to real life or daily life instances. She goes above and beyond to explain difficult things and definitely tries to make psychology a fun topic. She did cancel class a couple times due to personal issues or health issues but she did end up uploading the missed lectures online for us to watch. The textbook wasn't used at all in this class as she uploaded modules and notes on CCLE for us to review. The midterm and final added up to 90% of your grade and all were multiple choice. Study the study guides she puts up and you should get an A easily. The written assignment is 10% and on a research article. The class was enjoyable and I do highly recommend Professor Walker for Psych 10. The only downside of this class was that, during spring quarter it was 4-5:50 pm which made going to class a pain sometimes especially if you end class way earlier in the day on these days but thats a departmental decision and not on Professor Walker's behalf.

I came out of this class really dissatisfied. Walker missed a TON of lectures, which was fun at first but when it's material I actually wanted to learn because it will help me down the road with my major, it was really frustrating. While the class was easy, she got super off topic and I felt vaguely stressed the whole time. While it was nice to get an A, i don't really feel like I know anything new or have a sense of what my major will be like.

Quarter: Spring 2017
Grade: A

Overall this class was pretty easy. Both midterm and final, which make up 90% of your grade, were 75 multiple choice questions that are based mainly on the lectures and Professor Walker's slides. I didn't really use the textbook that much except maybe to clarify concepts that I didn't really understand in lecture. Also, there were a few extra credit questions on the midterm. We also received extra credit for watching and answering questions about a documentary on bullying. Since lectures were 2 hours, they could be a bit dull, but Professor Walker tries to make them more interesting with anecdotes and interesting videos. However, lectures were occasionally canceled. Essay is worth 10% of grade and is just summarizing an article about any psychological topic discussed in class. I got an 80 on my essay but my final and midterm score allowed me to get an A.

Between Walker's slides (which are posted on CCLE) and her lectures, you shouldn't ever need to open the textbook, if you take decent notes. Her lectures are funny, she shows videos throughout to keep students engaged. She readily acknowledges the "boring" nature of some of the topics she has to cover, and tries to keep those sections brief and to the point. The cute anecdotes she tells help make the 2 hour lectures bearable, although you should probably have some coffee just to be safe. Her tests come straight from her lectures, so there are no surprises. This class should be a fun and easy A.

The concepts are very straightforward and her lectures are pure regurgitation of the readings. For our quarter she was absent quite a bit for medical/personal reasons so she gave us 10 points possible extra credit for the final, which I'm not sure if she usually does that but it was helpful. She gives very straightforward study guides for the midterm and final and posts slides for all of the lectures that almost always answer the study guides chronologically. She's pretty casual and tells personal stories and shows youtube videos of examples of studies. You also have to participate in 6 hours of psych studies, or write additional research papers about studies. Overall tests were really easy and counted for 45% of our grade each

Do not buy the book for this class, I never touched it. Prof. Walker is super engaging and funny but can go overboard sometimes but I guess that's better than the alternative. Just go to class and review the posted slides before exams and it's a pretty easy A.

Professor Walker is awesome. The class is pretty straightforward, except for the midterm which (at least for me) was deceivingly hard. The midterm and final were 45% each, with a small paper being 10% of your grade. The final was a lot easier than the midterm (A- versus B-), and she offered an amazing extra credit opportunity that added 10% on to your final grade about a movie, Perks of Being a Wallflower, that took a maximum of ten minutes and really helped my grade. I went to every lecture, and as long as you do that you're more than fine. She never assigned readings from the textbook that we had to get, but it probably would have helped my grade a little if I had read some of the chapters. Overall, a really chill class and Walker was very helpful and super funny.

Midterm - 45%
Final - 45%
Final Paper - 10%
Research articles(3) - Not part of grade but mandatory in order to receive grade. If you don't want to write then you can participate in research studies instead to receive credit.

Professor Walker is a great professor, it is easy to tell how much she loves what she talks about. She provides lecture slides that are very detailed where it isn't necessary to read the textbook. However, her class does not require your attendance so if you're just lazy and don't want to go to class, then definitely buy the textbook! Her classes are later on in the day and even though her lectures were never boring, I tended not to go because lecture was so late compared to my other classes. Her lectures slides are posted to CCLE but she does not podcast. I just looked through the lecture slides and read the chapters she assigned and got A's on both the midterm and final (not cumulative).

I received a 92% on the midterm, 97% on the final, and an 89% on the research final paper and got an A in the class. 10/10 would recommend
