Professor Fink cares immensely about his students. He creates an environment where all ideas are welcomed and has the incredible effect of finding the best way to communicate with his students. I loved every single lecture because he often created food for thought--and that's what college students need. We, as students, should not be coddled. The real world does the very opposite of coddling. Professor Fink taught me to jump into the unknown and understand other people--not silence them. His classes taught me about the importance of Free speech and that, in itself, should make him one of the most valued professors here at UCLA. I am extremely happy to have attended his classes and I hope there is a future to which students will be able to take his classes.

This is my first and last review of a professor during my time at UCLA. Professor Fink is absolutely wonderful. He is genuinely passionate about teaching and his concerns for his students are real. This class was one of a few classes that made me feel like my tuition was not wasted. The contents of the class are practical and essential for anyone who will be getting a job after college. Professor Fink is a very good speaker and has strong opinions, but he does not impose his views on students. Instead, he challenges students to actually think about important issues that may have a direct influence on us in the future. He is a brilliant professor with a kind heart. I wish I could've taken more of his classes because this class was one of the best and the most helpful classes I have taken at UCLA. Professor Fink is a truly an invaluable asset to UCLA. I hope everyone takes his class.

Everybody should take this class at some point in their college career. Professor Fink is an incredible teacher and the subject matter is relevant for the rest of your life as it discusses certain aspects of employment law and dos and don'ts in the workplace.
It is an utter shame that Professor Fink is being pushed out of the Communication Studies Department. Having taken several Communications classes with different professors I can confidently say that Professor Fink is one of the best. He is committed to his students and always makes himself available although he is a full time lawyer as well. Additionally, he encourages students to speak up in class and strives to introduce students to different viewpoints.

The most useful and inspiring class I've ever taken at UCLA. Professor Fink has a great sense of humor, and as a lawyer himself, he is knowledgeable and absolutely passionate about this subject. He truly cares about his students and offers them help whenever he can. The class materials are quite difficult but are super interesting, and they will definitely help those of us who are going to enter the workplace. Also, He is a Chinese at heart - prepare yourself for some fun facts about China in class. 如果你是中国人,一定要上Fink老师的课!

Probably the most relevant class you can take at UCLA so I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone! Fink is by far one of the best professors I have had the pleasure of having- knowledgeable, passionate, and not to mention entertaining. He cares a lot about his students. His exams are very fair and he grades generously. You will not be disappointed!

This class will be one of the most important classes of your life since it deals with laws that govern free speech in the workplace. Professor Fink is an extraordinary professor who knows how to keep his class engaged. He teaches class via the socratic method which means each class fells as though the students and him are having a conversation. The class consists of one midterm and a final and extra credit assignments. Attending class is a must if you want to do well in his class. Also attend the TA review sessions since I found them to be a lot of help. All of what he teaches you is based on court cases and real world scenarios which keeps the students engaged. By taking this class you learn what is legal and illegal in the workplace something I am sure all of us students are interested in knowing!

Okay, taking this class is seriously, SERIOUSLY a must. Apart from professor Fink being a legit gift to UCLA the class deals with something that we all hope we will get once we graduate, employment. In this class you will learn you what is legal and illegal in the workplace, your rights as an employee and responsibilities as an employer. All of the class topics, concepts and discussion deal with real world scenarios that could very much happen to any of us once we enter into the " work world". With professor Fink being a lawyer that specializes in employment law he is more than qualified to educate UCLA students on the topic. For the administrative aspect of the class there is one midterm, and a final. There is a lot of extra credit available for those who actively participate so make sure you do so! He lectures via the Socratic method and his class are not podcasted, trust me you do not want to miss any of his classes. The book is helpful but do not substitute it for coming to class. A lot of the information you need to know for the exam will be presented during lecture so make sure you go to class and take notes. The TA reviews are SUPER helpful, going to these is an absolute must!! Go to class, take notes, read and go to the TA review session and you are basically guaranteed to do very well. This class is super enjoyable and RIDICULOUSLY HELPFUL!! You will do yourself a great service by taking this class and you will enjoy it the entire time!!!

This is an excellent class. Def one of the best I've taken at UCLA. Prof teaches very practical stuff. Entertaining. One of the few classes I've actually enjoyed going to.

One piece of caution: this class is not good for social justice warriors.

I wish that I would have known about Professor Fink's classes when I started going to UCLA and not during my last quarter as a senior! He is a great professor and I learned a lot during the class. This is one of the few classes that I have had at UCLA that I feel applies to the actual world (and not the made up safe space world). Professor Fink even goes the extra mile to provide his students with advice on a legal career and networking. This class was a great experience!
