I didn't ALWAYS go to class, but when I did I found it very worthwhile. She's been teaching the class for AGES, so her course reader was very organized and helpful. Although it seemed like a waste of time, I really liked how she told us about investing in ROTH IRAs and mutual funds, and gave us the scoop about Sarbannes-Oxley and Enron stuff. The problems in the book were a good supplement for the most part, until I came to the very end of the quarter, at which point the book became virtually useless. I felt like I left with a good understanding of beginning accounting, and I really liked her. Plus, her credentials (proudly displayed at the beginning of the course reader) indicate that she's well qualified. I would recommend her. My friends who took Litt I think struggled more than I did to get the concepts, mostly because I think she explained them better.

Gardner is a good lecturer. The only flaw I saw in her teaching is that she sometimes gets ahead of her syllabus, leaving students wondering where the hell some things came from. But overall, she explains things in a very understandable way and her reader is so good that you might not have to read the book. Personally, I read the book (which was awesome), did the homework problems she assigned, did her very helpful and insightful assignments and ended up with an A. For this class, A is for effort. If you expect less from yourself, question whether or not you are competitive enough for this minor. Best of luck~

She came in late every single day. She goes through the material very quickly. Her exams are ridiculous. They aren't designed for you to finished. She says her exams are time-pressured that's no joke. The material isn't difficult, yet she finds a way to make the class difficult. If you take this class, GOOD LUCK.
