Definitely take Physci 5! Esdin is a great professor and if I could, I would take all of the classes he teaches (already took LS2 with him). He really cares about his students and is really engaging. The material for this class was ridiculously overpriced (100+ dollars!) but unfortunately very necessary. His exam and quiz questions come directly from the course reader so even if you go to lecture, he could include things he didn't go over as long as they're in the course reader. The workbook that comes with the textbook is worth 100 points and the iProfile access code you buy is necessary for you to make the project (another 100 points). Overall there's: participation, quizzes, the project, the workbook, 1 midterm, and 1 final. Overall a very interesting and useful class.
PS for those who want my old iProfile access code, workbook, and course reader, text me at **********. I have the material from Winter 2016 but am selling it now (2016-2017 school year)
The former post has wrong phone number.

Useful class.
Selling my course reader, workbook and i-profile with good price. (Free course notes, review materials, and ideas about how to prepare for the examinations) If u r interested, please msg me at ********** :)
I recommend you guys to take the class not only for a GE but also for your life. I learn a lot about diet and exercise and some of my misunderstandings of nutrition and health were broken up.
About the Class
========================
1. Attendance. there are sign-in sheets for each lecture. What is important for your success in the class is, Dr. Esdin will sometimes release one question that will be shown on midterm/final. There are four labs that need your participation. Each of them helps you to measure how your body functions. Very interesting.
2. Required materials. 1 course reader, 1 workbook, 1 i-profile. I recommend you buy second-hand since if you buy these things in the bookstore, it will charge you more than $100.The edition of course reader doesn't matter from my perspective. But you need to buy the workbook. I-profile is an online software on which you record you daily diet and exercise(Which is needed for the assignment).
3. Prepare for the exams. That's a tricky part. One of my friend even said: "To prepare for the class, just write down every thing he said...“ To some extend, that's true. The exams can ask really detailed questions. It seems like every sentence in the course reader can show on your exams. I didn't do well in my midterm but before finals, I fortunately got the idea about how to prepare for the exams. ①Attend the lecture. Dr.Esdin will emphasize the important things. ② attend the review session, go back to the pages that include the important things that he mentions. ③do not miss the free questions that he gives during lectures.
4. Dr. Esdin has accent but he is easy to comprehend. The class doesn't have bruin cast or slides.
Highly recommend:)

Easiest class I've taken in college. Just try not to forget turning in his online quizzes (which are actually worth a bit). Good thing hes pretty lenient with the deadlines.
I'm also selling the PhySci 5 course reader, and could probably figure out a way to transfer my (still active) iProfile account to you. Please email me at ************* if you're interested.
Awesome professor! Lectures were intriguing and organized. Attended every lecture and it was well worth it.
Grading consisted of:
Midterm 150 points
2 Quizzes 24 points
Lifestyle Assessment Report (due at the end of the course) 100 points
Final 150 points
The midterm and final were held at the Young Hall computer labs and only consisted of 38 multiple choice questions. You should definitely attend Friday lectures since he gives out answers to questions that will appear on the midterm and final exam.
Also, I am selling the Physiological Science 5-Lifestyle and Diseases Course Reader (Spring 2013 edition) for $35. It is like new with absolutely no markings or tears. Text ********** if interested.
