He is one of the best economics professors that I have ever had. The other one is Prof. Hansen (Hansen being more theoretical). Riley's class is not very theoretical, but very very practical. If you want to learn some basic relevant economic model skills and want to avoid being completely useless in your future job, you'd better take this class or you'll regret it. Plus, the class is really not hard if you try hard.

Great class. It's everything from 11 and 101 applied, which is something that is rare in econ- doing real world problems as opposed to theory. The homework is time intensive, but this is the best way to learn the material. Tests were time pressured, but fair. The curve was generous. One of my favorite econ classes at UCLA. Riley's a good guy.
