Great professor!
Took 119 with him. The workload isn't hard and even if you don't fully complete the homework he still gives you points and sometimes even lets you complete it and turn it in later for full credit. He explains the material VERY well. As long as you attend lecture (he also takes attendance) you'll do fine since the exams are basically what's discussed in class - no tricks or surprises. He is super kind and is always available, he really wants to see his students succeed.

Professor Torrecilla is a very good teacher. This was my first upper division Spanish class and it was a lot better than it could have been. As a non-native speaker, he was pretty easy to understand (I was more intimidated by the native speakers in the class). For this course you will have to do one in-class presentation (I recommend doing it early in the quarter) and one paper. There is a midterm and a final. The rest of your grade is participation. Overall, Prof. Torrecilla was a pretty good professor, I just was not terribly interested in the subject.
