This was my fist time taking Spanish at UCLA, however it was a great experience and it has encouraged me to take more Spanish classes. Monti was an engaging professor who was able to explain concepts in a helpful way. I wish I could have her again for Spanish 4. I was comfortable asking questions and making mistakes in the class. I would recommend you take Monti if she is an option.

Jennifer was great! I had just finished Spanish 2 with a different professor and came into this Spanish 3 class very nervous. I had never taken Spanish before Spanish 2, so I struggled. I was worried about being very far behind and not being able to keep up with the lectures. I was pleasantly surprised that I received so much help in this course. Jennifer was very open to office hours and emails to help the entire class clarify grammar and other issues. She genuinely cared about us and our education. She understood that learning a second language isn't easy and was very supportive of our class. I would love to take another Spanish class with her. I felt comfortable speaking in class in a way I didn't feel in my previous Spanish 2 class.

This woman enforces rules that aren't on the syllabus and mark you down if she hears you speaking english. (syllabus does not even mention the word "english." She is truly uptight and will not let you catch a break. Every other spanish professor has had the distinct ability to create a warm friendly environment however Jennifer Monti is incapable since she is a cold, smug, self-righteous female dog, solely invested in her own agenda as a graduate student and thus is not interested in benefitting the lives of students. Honestly she just wants to come across well to her superiors and is a sad form of human existence.
