Professor Wong is a great professor! This class requires very minimum work, only a set of ten questions every week which you have a week to complete and can retake as many times as you want. The textbook is not necessary, if you study his lecture slides you will do fine on the midterm and final. Both midterm and final exam are worth the same, but it can all be found in his slides and the TA provided study guides which really helped (labeling the slide and lecture in which the answer could be found in). It's honestly a very interesting class and I recommend going to the lectures (even though he posts the slides beforehand) because you get a better sense of the material and he offers extra credit once before the midterm and once before the final but you have to be present in the lecture to get it. Professor Wong was engaging and you really feel like you learned something new, would definitely take this class again with him!

Some reviews say that this class was very hard, but the class was not that bad. It was hard if you did not know anything about neuroscience or biology (like I did). The final and midterm had very fair questions. You had homework due every Friday that you had to get 5/10 to get full credit. VERY IMPORTANT: go to class he gives extra credit PERCENTAGES that were very easy to get. I was supposed to have a C+ but with the extra credit it boosted me to a B-. moral of the story: GO TO CLASS (even if its boring)

Overall, Wong is a great professor. He explains materials very clearly, and offers extra credit. However, he speaks too fast for most of the time, which sometimes make me confused about what he’s talking about. The workload is not heavy: there is only a set of study questions per week. Midterm and Final are ok if you memorize his slides and do not make simple mistakes. Recommend this class for a GE!

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AN EASY NORTH CAMPUS GE! The class is about how our brain works, not about psychology:? Prof Wong is extremely boring and basically just repeats what his slides say without any proper explanation. He talks very fast, therefore it is very difficult to understand what he is saying. Although he gives a few random extra credit points depending if you showed up to class or not, the tests are hard due to the fact that he tests you on the most random details. Would not recommend this class to anyone!!

If you are interested in neuroscience and how the brain works, this class is really interesting. Wong is a great professor who is always enthusiastic and as engaging as possible. I would definitely recommend this class, especially if you took AP Psych in high school. The only thing I would say is this class is definitely less psychology, and more biology and neuroscience so be aware of that going into it. There is basically no work besides a weekly online quiz that you can retake I think like 3 times to get a good score. For the midterm and final, just dedicate a few days to really memorizing the slides and material, and you should be able to easily get an A. As a north campus major, I really enjoyed this class and studying the material.

The professor is knowledgeable and a pretty good lecturer. If you enjoy learning about psychobio, you should find the lectures pretty interesting. There is essentially no work except some online quizzes/worksheets which take <10 minutes and are essentially graded for completion . There are two tests, which are 85% of your grade in total. The test content is 100% from the lectures and the lecture slides. While going to lecture isn't mandatory, there are questions on the tests that you won't be able to answer if you don't go to lecture (i.e. what is the condition from the video shown in class?). The tests itself are medium difficulty, but are easy A's if you devote ~10 hours before each test to memorize the slides. There is also in-class extra credit for 2% which he gives out a couple lectures before the midterm and final. If you want an easy A to fulfill your GE, there are probably better classes for that, but if you are interested in psychobio this class is fine.

Disclaimer, I don't like science and I really don't like biology so take everything I say with a grain of salt if you like those things! This class was tough for me because I wasn't interested in the material. There is minimal homework, only the weekly quizzes, which took me 10-20 mins per week. I studied for the midterm and the final about 8 hours each the couple days leading up to the tests and got an 80 on both. The class is pretty much strictly memorization. If you are good at memorization and like to learn about cells and neurons and stuff like that I think this would be a really easy class for you. The midterm and final are multiple choice and not that hard, the subject just wasn't my forte. You really don't even need to attend lecture, he posts all the notes on CCLE and questions are taken directly off info on the slides. You also don't really need the textbook, I only used it to help me study but he doesn't use any questions that aren't in his slides.

The class was a fun one to take but turned out to be a little harder than I thought when the tests came around. I missed a lot of lecture and didn't take great notes but if I had tried harder I know I could've done way better. The professor is extremely knowledgeable and passionate but his lectures get a little tedious because he reads off the slides for a lot of them.

Honestly it’s not a hard class at all if you listen to his lectures and memorize his PowerPoint slides. If you do that you can easily get an A. I didn’t because for the first half of the course I was completely spaced out and barely studied so I totally effed up on the midterm, but the second half of the class I listened and memorized his slides and got an A on the final. As long as you can memorize a lot, you’re fine.

If you listen to the lectures and take notes on the slides it's very easy to do well in this class.
Earlier reviews mention clickers but this professor did not require clickers for my lecture. He used in class extra credit as a way to keep students honest about attending lectures. He was responsive to questions and an engaging lecturer. Material is also super interesting and he tries to make it relevant. Would definitely recommend.
