This is probably one of the best electives in the Phy Sci major and Dr. Tidball is an excellent professor. All his notes are handwritten so you can easily follow along, and the way he presents the material is super organized and clear. The midterms are all application-based and involve experimental design, which I thought I would be terrible at, but Dr. Tidball provides practice questions that he reviews thoroughly in class, and he really prepared us well for the exams. With class being online, his exams have been open note and because he wants us to know how to apply the material, he said he's been considering making the exams open note permanently. He is also a very thoughtful grader, focusing more on what you got right than what you got wrong! Would highly recommend taking this class

Professor Tidball is an excellent teacher. He is able to explain things in a clear, coherent lecture, and makes sure everyone understands. He handwrites his notes on the whiteboard (thank god for no powerpoints!) which gives you plenty of time to copy them down. For 155 his tests are not multiple choice, but are very straightforward, certainly a welcome change from the 111 series. In addition to all of this, he is a very nice guy who is always willing to help if you have any trouble!

This is by far the best elective in PhySci. Dr. Tidball is very straight forward. There are no tricks on his exams. Best part is that each exam has only about 6 lectures on it. Also, the final is during 10th week! His test is not multiple choice like the one in the core class.
