Our main topic for the Fall 2021 quarter was food, and we had three major essays, small canvas discussions, readings (I did not read all of the assigned books, only the ones that we had to use to answer discussions), peer reviews, and individual conferences where the professor went over your essay and gave you comments (very helpful). Professor Jada gave us the option of standard grading or labor-based grading before we began the topic, and our class picked the latter since it guaranteed a B if you completed all assignments and attended all classes. You can get an A by teaching one of the topics we've discussed in class or by writing a letter after seeing the Food, Inc. video (you do not have to send the email out lmao). Also, we had to record two videos closer to the end of the quarter.
This may appear overwhelming, but the deadlines she set were fair, and she extended the final few until the end of week 10. I also did not see her being passive-aggressive (in case you do sth wrong).
You work, you get a good grade.
You don't try, you get what you deserve.
If you have any questions, you should definitely come in during office hours rather than emailing.
