Fall 2025 - I wanted to write a review just to update everyone on the most recent class structure and workload. To start off I disagree with anyone saying this class is as difficult as other stem upper division courses. The tests were extremely manageable if you understood the reasoning behind the previous exams. That being said, Pham will randomly put a ten part question that you may have never seen before to mix up the tests which explains why the perceived difficulty is so random across quarters. However, its not completely unreasonable and if you use the genetics logic from the past exams you should be able to get most of them right and then have the make up quiz restore most of your grade. My only complaint with the class is that the lectures consistently go over content that is not relevant to the exams making them feel like a waste of time. On top of this quizzes are randomly assigned with no notice and we had three quizzes during 1 on Monday and 2 on Tuesday of finals week. Overall definitely take this course if your looking to fulfill a upper division STEM course requirement I doubt theres many easier courses out there.
