This was a great class and the content was genuinely interesting, and Professor Konstantopoulos was actually funny so it made lectures very interesting. This was a very easy A class as long as you actually study a bit, but you're essentially guaranteed an A because she basically tells you exactly what will be on quizzes, the midterm, and what she expects from the final project. The grading scheme is: 150 points for section attendance and participation, 100 points for short quizzes (there are two, done in discussion section but are pretty fast and consist of multiple choice, image identification, and short answer), 100 points for short response paper (literally like two pages double spaced reacting to a reading or making a meme of a reading and writing a short paragraph), 50 points for reading response (there are two, about 2-3 pages double spaced), 250 points for the midterm which are mainly multiple choice questions, 2 image IDs, and two essay questions, and 350 points for the final project which is a 3-6 page paper. She also offers extra credit in class sometimes. Overall the class is super fun and really easy as long as you try. Great class and great professor! Would take again if I could.

This was the easiest class I have ever taken. I put by far the least effort into it compared to my other classes and still ended up with an A+. There are a lot of quizzes, a midterm, a short paper and a final paper but the quizzes and the midterm are directly from the lecture and super easy if you attend class. I'll give you an example: We spent like weeks learning about this one demon, and then the quiz question was literally a picture of the demon and "who is this?" That was worth like 10 points of the quiz. There is a lot of busy work but they are memes that you create and are genuinely graded on completion. The only thing that they were kind of picky on was the short paper but still, I think the average was like a 90. TBH I found lecture really boring but I did like Discussion a lot, my TA Caitlyn was really chill and nice. I also don't really think you need to do the readings. They talk about them a lot in class so you will be able to easily stay on track. I would say that if you are considering taking 4 classes and want an easy GE to fulfill, this would be it. Super easy to add on to a big class load because it isn't really that demanding

Very easy to do well in this class, she gives a lot of unnecessary info but she is funny and cares a lot. Gives extra credit, easy quizzes, a final essay and midterm had me studying for much more than I needed

i found this class to be really interesting but also pretty unorganized, lecture slides are kinda incoherent and fast-paced. make sure to do the readings before class, you can't really skip them. once you get the hang of the lecture structure you'll be fine. readings can be way too long so just skim them if you have to. the final paper was super fun and i enjoyed it

I learned so much in this class. The professor truly enjoys what she is teaching and never fails to make the lecture engaging and thorough. The midterms and quizzes are extremely easy if you pay attention in the lecture, and she is always open to talking to you and learning new things. One thing to note, however, is she includes a lot of pictures on her slides and less of the physical content, so make sure to be present in lecture!!

This was an amazing class. The material was so interesting and the professor was so captivating and funny it was hard NOT to pay attention. I was in a 9 am Friday discussion for this class but I honestly didn't care how early it was because I enjoyed the discussions and there was one time were we got to make Greco-Roman curse tablets. I loved the professor and I loved my TA. 10/10 class, take this course if you can.

I really enjoyed this class. It’s a very easy ge if you attend lecture. Literally just sit there, pay attention, and take notes and you will pass the midterm and short quizzes with flying colors. The class is also entertaining so it won’t be hard to pay attention. The final is a 7-8 page essay on your own monster, basically a fan fic. I highly recommend this class.

This class is a pretty easy A/A+ GE. This was my first quarter at UCLA but many people in the class were actually upperclassmen so it was cool to have such a wide variety of students taking the class. Professor Konstantopoulos is definitely knowledgeable and a funny lecturer, though it was difficult to know what to take notes on at times since she goes on many side tangents about hollywood sucking or egypt getting too much coverage in middle school history class. One important thing to know: YOU SHOULD TO GO TO LECTURE. The slides do not contain that much information often so you need Professor's commentary, which is not recorded. Also, there are occasional participation checks at the end of class, which count towards extra credit after the first or second one.

My TA was Caitlin who is super awesome and nice. This was her first time TAing this class and I think she was better than most of the other TAs. She really wanted us to succeed, but with that also came higher expectations and she graded our papers most harshly out of all TAs. Still, she graded our Midterm and Final with wanting us to get an A/A+ in mind so I highly recommend Caitlin as your TA.

Overall, a good class, not necessarily a must-take but the content is interesting and it's not too difficult.

BEST. CLASS. EVER. At first, I was confused at what the tests would cover, as we covered so much material in the first few weeks, but after the first quiz in section, it was clear that I did not need to be worried. Lectures aren't recorded and the slides that are uploaded to BruinLearn are mostly just images that she talks about in class, so it is important to go to lecture in order to actually know what's going on. Also, at the end of lecture, easy attendance checks are occasionally passed out, which are basically free points. Lecture is engaging, and Professor K is very funny and clearly passionate about the topic. Quizzes and the midterm are very straightforward and easy, and the reading responses (memes), short paper, and final paper are very manageable. Overall, the course content is extremely interesting, and if I could take this class again I would!!!
