Highly recommend it! This class will seem challenging at first, but listen to Prof. Weaver and don't drop it! I seriously considered dropping in the first week but decided to stay and I don't regret it. This was one of my favorite classes in the department so far. The material is interesting and fun. A little hard to understand at first but trust, you will get it without having to pull all-nighters. Class consists of a few quizzes for the first part of the quarter, a midterm, weekly translations (bit time consuming but manageable), and a final translation project. Prof. Weaver is very dedicated, friendly, and won't hesistate to go over the material with you in office hours if you need extra help.
Be VERY careful with this class. The professor is good, but the course materials is a different story. You are not just reading something, you are learning a whole new language in this course. Be ready to take on a decent chunk of reading from the textbook and a whole lot more time struggling with the material and questioning what's going on. Unless you're interested in languages, do not take this class. Especially if you're pulling up to get the foreign literature requirement done.
