Engr 112 His classes are fairly useless on the content for exams, but are really valuable on knowledge about the wall street journal, economic terms and exposure to the US economy. However, his review sessions for exams are very important because he tells you what the questions are asking about. He doesn't state the exact question, but says something like "look up crossing the chasm" or "you need to know the 6 forces". But if you keep up with your reading, the exams (multiple choice for MT and Final) should be too easy for you. TOO EASY. Other than that, his assignments are very hands on and effective. Everyone generally gets good marks here, but timing is very strict for presentations. Also, the most important thing in this class is the participation on the class Forum. With just normal assignments, other people had around 35 posts, but you have to go the extra mile and reach 50 - 60 posts or more if you want that A. I would really recommend this professor. You learn a lot.

Bristow is straightforward and genuinely cares about students. The difference between him and most professors at UCLA is that he's a businessman and not a researcher. He knows how to get a long with people and how to speak. He's a great communicator and he'll keep you interested. He wants to prepare people for the workforce, not have them memorize things they'll never use. 10/10

My experience in this class was extremely negative. The structure of the course is haphazard and studying for the class was extremely frustrating. A typical class goes as such. An hour of the class is spent discussing current events. This is the interesting part of the class, but very unapplicable because everything is anecdotal. The second half of his lecture is EXTREMELY boring. He doesn't prepare for his slides and simply wings each concept as it appears in his presentation. I doubt he understands the intricacies of the textbook material. Contrary to what a previous review says, he has a HUGE ego. He has an "always-right" attitude, and will answer questions without putting much thought towards them. He will spend half of every lecture giving pompous talks on the same principles over and over. He demands the participation of students, which is worth 20% of your grade. As for studying for the exam, don't even bother. Bristow will tell you 90% of the answers to the midterm and final beforehand. The rest are details hidden in obscure corners of the textbook. This means that everyone in the class gets a 90% on the midterm and final, leaving the grade up to participation and presentation. Presentations were not hard, but participating in class got to be a pain. You had to chime in once every class to do well. In a class of ~100, this got to be very hard. In all, I got the impression that he was one of those professors that are interesting to listen to, but ineffective in teaching the material. I can't remember anything useful from taking both engineering 111 and 112.

discusses a lot of cool info, but very disorganized, grading doesn't reflect effort in the class. you can do well on all of the assignments, which tend to be useful, but are worth much less points overall than the time they take up, or have a good business plan, which is also a tiny fraction of your grade but takes up so much time and is the point of the class. your grade literally comes down to the exams, whether or not the TAs like you, and how much you participate. this is BS. your grade in entrepreneurship should be based on your ability to present an effective plan and generate good ideas, not on some arbitrary theory. oh and also, his tests and what he teaches in class have no connection. lets be real, no one actually reads the book, which is expensive as hell. yes, he has a review session where he tells you what's on the test, but most of the time, the questions people get wrong NOT because of difficulty, but because of how ambiguous they are worded. also bristow is super antiquated in his thinking and ideas. very stubborn,gives all the work to his TAs. don't take this class thinking its an easy A, its really not worth it. take the other professor or do management 180. engr 112 i took, disregard the title

I loved him. Really enjoyed taking 112 with him. Yes his teaching style is different but he tries to teach u whats important. I learnt how to make an elevator pitch, executive summary, business plan and a business presentation. To add to that he would always discuss WSJ in class and if you contirbute you get extra credit. Basically talk in class and you get points!! He is entertaining and you wont get bored. Very knowledgeable and i think it was a privilege to have him PS Engr 112 was not available for selection so chose this random class in the review. I took Engr 112 with him!
