Physics 1B
He's okay. He mostly teaches concepts and not applications, which is fine, since applications are painful as hell.

Class: Physics 1B ( I didn't actually take EE M256C)

Niemann is probably my favorite professor so far. His lectures are well prepared and easy-to-follow; I also enjoyed that he had cool demonstrations. I like that he had Mastering Physics homework due every week to keep me on top of the reading. His test are very fair: 2 midterms and 1 final, and his grading scheme only counted the better of the two midterms. Overall, a great professor! I would highly recommend!

He is a very good professor. He teaches physics like physics not just like another math class. Although I've got A- for 6A from Dr.Coroniti, but I learned absolutely NOTHING more than abstract mathematical proofs.

Take Niemann if you want to learn physics principles and concepts rather than mere mathematical proofs.

If you are taking 6 series then you are probably bio/biochem major, and so math-oriented physics is not what you most need!!!! Don't take Coroniti unless you are very good at math.

For Exams, midterms have 3 questions, the first one consists of 10 MCs,which is the hardest part because you need to be very familiar with the concepts that he covers in lectures.

The other 2 questions are calculations, which are very straightforward (almost like free points). Similar to HW.

I've got an A from him. His final was actually quite easy! it was very similar to the midterms.

One of the best professors I've had in 3 years. Highly recommended!

Class: Physics 1B
I thought he was a really good teacher; he seemed to put in a lot of effort into helping us understand and even did demonstrations. Who does demonstrations anymore? It was pretty easy to get good grades on the homework, though it could be pretty tedious sometimes. His tests were hard though. I got a C+ in this class but deserved it; I didn't do the homework, and that 10% of easy A would probably have been helpful.

I had him for PHYSICS 1B. He's relatively easy as far as the midterms and homeworks go, but his final was brutal. midterms for us were half MC half problems. final was all problems.
