Best Econ Professor ever.... So organized and explains things in an extremely intuitive way. Exams are tough but there is significant practice material provided. If you do all the practice material and understand it thoroughly, no reason to not get an A.

I took 4 classes with Professor Surro and I think he's one of the best professors in the Econ department. He's very active answering questions and giving out feedbacks to students. The exams are pretty hard and he pretty much respects the department grade distribution. There was a power point on the Solow Model and it was probably my favorite part of the course. Take the midterm because the final is harder and the multiple choice section is very tricky.

i hate his teaching style - it doesn't work for me. if you took econ11 with him and think this will be any different, it won't. save yourself the trouble. this class isn't for people who like to play catch up.

one positive is that he passed me even tho i shouldn't have. if he sees you trying, and turning in assignments, there is not really a way to fail his class. you will move on to the next series. i appreciate him for that. thank you, chris surro! i won't be taking another class with you, but i respect your integrity.

Professor Surro continues to be the best professor in the Econ department. He teaches you exactly what he intends on testing you on and is clear and concise when he teaches. Whenever you see a class taught by Chirs Surro it should always be an indication to take it.

This class is great and Dr. Surro is an amazing professor. Quite frank, the best econ professor at UCLA currently. Without a doubt, I would recommend anyone to take a course with him.

If you want to take a core econ course (2,11,102) take it with Professor Surro. He's just the best professor in the department when it comes to teaching. Yes, his assignments and exams are a little tricky, but this guy cares about student learning and wants people to succeed. I've learned so much from Chris and thanks to him I think I've become a better student. Great lecturer and great guy to reach out to. He's just an absolute beast!

I took Surro for 11 and 102. He is consistently clear and helpful. He is THE best econ professor at UCLA. Tests are tough but there is more than enough opportunity for extra credit. I recommend doing ALL of the extra credit he offers. Campuswire is also a helpful tool he uses to quickly respond to questions/concerns. The Solow Excel Assignment is rather tedious, but if you start early and do the bare minimum, you are guaranteed at least a B. Would recommend!

Professor Surro is great. His slides are well-prepared, and he explains everything super clear via Campuswire. I would take this class again with him.

Professor Surro is the best professor to take a core Economics class with! He genuinely cares about learning and tries to show students how theoretical economics concept apply to the real world. He also gives out a lot of extra credit and it always willing to help. While most Economics class grades are based solely on exams, Surro encourages and awards participation, attendance and an effort to learn. He is also very open to feedback and does his level best to improve and help his students. Consider yourself lucky if you are able to get into one of his classes.

Definitely take a class with Chris Surro. One of the best Econ profs, he makes you realize that Econ isn’t just graphs and memorization but actually something people use in the real world.
