This is by far the WORST class I have ever taken at UCLA, and I have take some pretty crappy classes here. The lectures are completely useless and disgusting, who the hell knows what this senile old man is talking about half the time. The points from the lecture are also completely useless on the midterm and final. Probably the worst part about this class though are the TAs. I'm pretty sure there are only about 9 grad students total in the department of philosophy, and each one of them thinks the world of themselves. I have never come across such arrogant, self-absorbed TAs in my time here at UCLA. Michelle Gallagher being one of the worst, her office hours comprised of her asking questions that she would spend hours answering herself while we just sat there hoping to glean anything useful (which was nothing). In discussion all she ever did was rant about useless information that woudn't even help with the final or midterm. Ugly appearance and personality, her "easy" quizzes would ask us questions in which the answers were "tall man" or "bigness". Overall, this class was a colossal waste of time and resources that should have been spent studying for classes that matter.

I currently taking phil 3 with him and this class is by far the hardest GE I have ever taken. The TA's think they we are philosophy students and expect us to know how to write "philosophy papers". TAs are pretty worthless, they think you know and care about philosophy. The WEEKLY quizzes are supposed to be "easy" but can actually be pretty challenging. Avoid this class at all costs!!!
