The class was formatted as open discussion, which meant the professor didn't hold our hands through the course work, something some weaker students might not appreciate. I found the professor completely professional, knowledgeable, open and approachable, friendly, and not overwhelming with his humor. He was always attuned to the needs of his students and treated us like equals and colleagues. I see why some students would not like his style, so many professors hand their students the answers, where this professor challenges you to discover the answer yourself. Poor reviews here are only an indicator of the student's ability, not the professor's. I highly recommend this professor, but not for the student who wants a study sheet and a powerpoint.

I don't know what everyone is talking about. Sounds like some bitter students to me. I thought Blake was awesome. He cared about the subject, the class, and his students. Class was always fun, discussion was interesting, and I really feel like I walked away with some awesome knowledge. If I had any more terms left at UCLA I would totally take more classes with him. One of the best teachers the school has to offer. I'll always remember our class!

Pretty much a waste of time and energy. I did a lot of work and ended up with a C. One of only two I have ever received. Do yourself a favor and keep clear. He is a little hot tempered as well. If you ask a question at the wrong time he can get abusive.
