I took LS2 with Professor Friscia! That class wasn't an option on here, so I just put PhySci 5. But this review is for LS2!!!

I can honestly say that he's one of the fairest professors I've had at UCLA so far. He taught only the first five weeks of the course (which mostly covered cells and macromolecules). His lectures are easy to follow and he writes all the most important points on a projector for everyone to copy down. He posts the lectures ahead of time, so you can print them out and bring them to class or take notes on your laptop or whatever. He is a great lecturer and speaks very clearly and emphasizes what will be on the exams. Additionally, he tells you what you DON'T need to know from the textbook, which is really helpful when studying.

Since he only taught the first five weeks of LS2, his material was only on the first midterm. I have never walked out of a test feeling so confidently that I did well. I am by no means an extraordinary student, but I managed to get a 98.5% on his midterm and the average was an 84%, so most other people did pretty well too!

To do well in this class, I would suggest simply listening to all of his lectures once more before the exam (they are podcasted-audio, no video). His midterm was extremely fair. Everything that appeared on the exam was a topic that he had strongly emphasized during lecture. I didn't read the textbook at all, but I re-listened to every single lecture within the two days leading up to the midterm and scored 5th out of 350ish students.

I hope this review helps. I would strongly recommend taking Professor Friscia! LS2 is not an easy class by nature, but he makes it manageable. It's not an easy A, but with a little extra effort, it's easy to do well!

I took the Dinosaur class with Professor Friscia, I liked him and his is funny during the lecture. Overall not a too difficult class but the lab every week can be a pain in the ass. Make sure you understand the material and memorizing everything and I think you will be fine. I would recommend him
