Sound Resources for Performance

Description: Lecture, three hours; studio, one hour; outside study, eight hours. Designed for graduate students. Exploration of music, in search of interesting, new, and unusual. Investigation of musical possibilities via record store, Internet, and music library; environmental sounds and patterns; body (clapping, stepping, and singing); and hardware store (found sound). Participants collaborate with fellow students in creative efforts and in presentations of research results. Concurrently scheduled with course C173. S/U or letter grading.
