Elementary Spanish
Description: Lecture, three hours; laboratory, two hours. Enforced requisite: course 2 with grade of C or better or Spanish placement test. Taught in Spanish. Laboratory is online. Introductory Spanish language and culture course that is proficiency-oriented, communicative, and task-based to help develop communicative competence in four skill areas (listening, speaking, reading, and writing), as well as cultural competence. P/NP or letter grading.

Professor Anya Obianuju is a tough but fair teacher. At the same time, she is also genuinely concerned with how her students are doing. Though she expects a lot out of her students she laughs easily and class can actually be quite fun. She's realistic, down to earth and knows what she's doing. You will learn a lot in her class; I highly recommend her.
