Spring 2022 - I went into this class super excited to learn about different disorders, but this class turned out to be extremely draining. The material is dense, professor talks and goes through slides too fast, which are full of text. After every class I felt exhausted and unsure of what I just learned. The exams were 62 questions in 75 minutes, which was a bit of a time crunch. They weren’t too bad, although I rewatched every lecture before the exams. The videos used in class were helpful for seeing the disorders in action, and the guest lectures by the TA were engaging as well, far more than the professor's. Overall, the class was fine. I just wish the professor would slow down, maybe cover less material so I didn’t feel so stressed.

Fall 2025 - I really enjoyed this class. The professor is really kind, engaging, and extremely knowledgeable about this field. My main tip is to start organizing material from day 1. Organizing my study guide took almost two weeks going through the book (which is a bit scattered) and slides, leaving hardly any time to actually study. I learned my mistake from the midterm and started organizing my material (by symptoms, med, therapies etc..) for the finals and ended passing with an A. Regardless, this was still a really great class to take but just know its not the easiest A to get but its completely possible to get an A. This is one of those classes where the work you put in is really what you get in the end. No tricks.

Spring 2023 - Ok first of all, TAKE. THIS. CLASS. WITH. WESTMAN. I took this on my last quarter before I graduated and I can easily say that this class is one of the fun, lightweight, and engaging ones out of the column A classes. Professor Westman is amazing! He presented his slides in a very engaging way and often times sliped in a joke or two (which helps student stays focused I would say). He also recorded his lectures, which is really helpful too. Discussion sections were mandatory but they are great as they reviewed materials that we studied in class. Professor Westman also assigned us to listen to podcasts that will be covered in discussion sections. Listen to the podcast. He will test them on the exam, but they're pretty self-explanatory if you listen to them and attend the discussion sections. I am also selling my class notes, discussion notes, and sample exam! Text me at ********** if you're interested :)
