Spring 2025 - Dr. Frye is awesome and so is his class! He teaches the first half of the course, which is mainly focused on insect sense organs. Think scent, taste, sight systems all in more detail than you could ever imagine. He also approaches the class from a research lens, and teaches each system along with figures from papers of the researchers who discovered each piece of the puzzle. This makes for a very interesting class, and you get to learn about some cool experiments. It is also VERY important for me to share that this guy is FUNNY, plus you can hear his excitement for the topic every single day. Makes coming to lecture all the more worth it. Class was very light, the only homework was a critique of one paper each week and instead of a midterm and a final there were four quizzes, two for his half and another two for Sampath's half. No final on finals week. Highly, highly recommend this class!

Spring 2025 - Dr. Sampath teaches the second half of this course, which is all the sense organs (think taste, scent, hearing, sight, touch) but in humans as opposed to Frye's insects. He's an extremely clear lecturer that cares about students. He leaves the floor open for questions during lecture and takes the time to explain things thoroughly if people are confused. He's also quite funny, and I thought he taught the course well! Very high quality professor, would recommend.
