Description: Lecture, four hours; discussion, one hour. Enforced requisite: course 31. Syntax, semantics, pragmatics. Semantical concept of truth, sense and denotation, synonymy and analyticity, modalities and tenses, indirect discourse, indexical terms, semantical paradoxes. May be repeated for credit with consent of instructor. Concurrently scheduled with course C228A. P/NP or letter grading.
