I actually took religion/Jewish Studies M10 with her which isn't listed. very easy GE especially if you already have a good understanding of the old testament. Class is basically straight up memorization and should be renamed to the history of the Jewish people. The class was also based on the TA's with them being the graders of the 2 essays, midterm, and final and they even wrote the midterm and final. I had a really good TA who gave us great study guides, told us the format of the tests, held study sessions, and told us exactly what to study. She wanted tests to be harder but thank goodness TA's were the ones in charge and kept tests as simple as possible. She assigned a ton of reading which I did basically none except for the story one of the essays were based on. Listening to lectures but especially discussions are all you really need to do. Take it for an easy GE

DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFFESOR! She is not a teacher, she is a researcher. Her lectures are unorganized and I was lost from day one. She has no structure!! She turns off all the lights when she lectures (all pictures btw, u can't write anything down) and everyone falls asleep. She see's people falling asleep right In front of her yet she doesn't care! She can not teach at ALL let alone work the computer! I took her my first quarter thinking her class would be interesting.... I was SO wrong! I lost all hope after this class. I expected more from Ucla. And trust me, my opinion isn't bias because everyone would talk shit on her, and her rediclously hard grading methods. Pease... Please take another class or you will hate yourself and ucla after this !!

Course taken: ANE M103A Jacco is a great professor - he's adorable during lecture and definitely passionate about the subject. He cares about his student learning. I think this was one of his first times teaching this class, so his midterm was difficult due to the time restraint, but he curved the midterm and lessened the amount of questions on the final. Looking forward to taking him again. :)

I took her for History 111C. She is completely disorganized. No one pays attention in class and those who bother to pay attention and ask questions she yells at. Her study guides are long and impossible to do. I would not recommend this classs AT ALL. I took it because it fit perfectly in my schd and I totally regretted taking it. the midterm is 45% attendance is 5 % in addition to weekly outlines you have to do and the final is 55%. Even though I did the outline + terms there is SO much information to memorize that it's really an unrealistic expectation she has to make us memorize those MILLIONS of terms and essay questions and only put a few on the final. don't take her. you'll dread every moment in her class. she jst has no spunk to her.. she needs to spice up the class! this course was an interesting subject but as I looked around the class theyre were people fast asleep! oh and if it's any consolation i'm not bitter I have a 3.8.

This professor is amazing. I looked forward to his class every week and his office hours were always a warm little discussion. I took Jewish Studies 10 (not on the list) fall quarter and I would recommend it to anyone, and I'm not even Jewish. The tests were very fair and the only homework assignment was to visit a Shabbat service. In comparison to other religion classes I've taken at UCLA, this one had the best approach and was not purely historical. The class was very interesting and the Rabbi is an amazing lecturer - he never needed notes or lecture slides. The best class I've taken!
