Introduction to Materials Characterization B (Electron Microscopy)

Description: Lecture, three hours; laboratory, two hours; outside study, seven hours. Requisites: courses 104, 110. Characterization of microstructure and microchemistry of materials; transmission electron microscopy; reciprocal lattice, electron diffraction, stereographic projection, direct observation of defects in crystals, replicas; scanning electron microscopy: emissive and reflective modes; chemical analysis; electron optics of both instruments. Letter grading.
