Description: Lecture, three hours; discussion, one hour. Knowledge of Japanese not required. Lectures/discussions on native religious rituals (festivals) and observances of Japanese, with special emphasis on artistic behavior. Discussion of Shinto, Shinto/Buddhist syncretism, and other non-Buddhist belief systems. Concurrently scheduled with course C282. Letter grading.
