Spring 2023 - Professor Cohen is courteous, but also deadpan and not too engaging. For this class, which Prof Cohen taught on "the literary essay", he didn't assign much of anything at all, and for what he did assign, he graded fairly easily. I expect to finish with either an A or A-. It was boring, but through the discussions around the texts and feedback on my papers (750-1000 words, creative writing, a breeze), I did learn a little.

Spring 2024 - Ignore the 110T review, Professor Stephan is the best! My second class with her, she's shrewd, funny, thoughtful, interested in our writing, clear, kind, can't say enough good things about her. She's not going to let you fade into the background; she will challenge you, ask for your insight, and she expects a high level of engagement with the text and discussions. I think her pedagogy is also very dynamic; classes never felt long. She was also very accommodating and kind to me during a rough quarter.
