Winter 2024 - I had him during 2023 in the summer for an upper div course and because of his hard work and dedication to his students as well as the interesting readings that makes the class engaging made me want to take his class again. Luckily I was able to find a class that he was teaching in that interests me and I'm glad I did.

Winter 2023 - super fun, engaging, interesting class. readings can be a little long at times, but class discussions are very interesting and often focussed more on today's culture rather than traditional literary analysis. professor mcmillan doesn't care too much about canvas organization and assignment parameters/deadlines were confusing, but manageable. grade work consisted of 3 mini-ish papers due at the end of the quarter about the readings, midterm paper, 'keyword' paper on american culture, and longgg take home final. overall, very manageable but annoying at times. an extra paper on the readings counted as extra credit and there was definitely an emphasis on participation, but that came easy as everyone was eager to talk and engage. overall DEFINITELY take the class
