Digital Signal Processing Design

Description: (Formerly numbered 113D.) Lecture, two hours; laboratory, four hours; outside study, six hours. Enforced requisite: course 113. Real-time implementation of digital signal processing algorithms on digital processor chips. Experiments involving A/D and D/A conversion, aliasing, digital filtering, sinusoidal oscillators, Fourier transforms, and finite wordlength effects. Course project involving original design and implementation of signal processing systems for communications, speech, audio, or video using DSP chip. In progress grading (credit to be given only on completion of course 113DB).
