Description: Lecture, four hours. Academic organizations, precollegiate and postsecondary, are most appropriately studied as complex, professionalized organizations. Emphasis on characteristics of educational institutions and systems as organizations: environmental relations, governance structures, processes, and patterns of decision making and policymaking. S/U or letter grading.
